Day 10-My Lips

The Man in the Mirror Journey
is a journey of walking out of a tomb and recognizing everyday the beauty and significance of how God created us. Instead of rebounding and finding esteem in the arms of someone else, these are the step to seeing it in the arms of God
Lips

Job 32:20 NIV
I must speak and find relief; I must open my
lips and reply.

Whatever your lips utter you must be sure to do, because you made your vow freely to the LORD your God with your own mouth.

The Problem
Jeremiah 4:30 the message
And you, what do you think you're up to? Dressing up in party clothes, Decking yourselves out in jewelry, putting on lipstick and rouge and mascara! Your primping goes for nothing. You're not going to seduce anyone. They're out to kill you!... (the enemy is who is being spoken of in this scripture, and I love this because it speaks about how we put the makeup on to fix the outside)

Job 15:6 NIV
Your own mouth condemns you, not mine; your own lips testify against you.

Psalm 59:7 NIV
See what they spew from their mouths—
they spew out swords from their lips, and they say, "Who can hear us?"

Leviticus 5:4 NKJV
‘Or if a person swears, speaking thoughtlessly with his
lips to do evil or to do good, whatever it is that a man may
pronounce by an oath, and he is unaware of it—when he realizes it, then
he shall be guilty in any of these matters.

Proverbs 10:18 NKJV
Whoever hides hatred has lying lips, And whoever spreads slander is a fool.

Matthew 15:8 NKJV
These people draw near to Me with their mouth,
And honor Me with their lips,But their heart is far from Me.

Psalm 12:3 NKJV
Slice their lips off their faces! Pull The braggart tongues from their mouths!
I'm tired of hearing, "We can talk anyone into anything!
Our lips manage the world."
(when you talk like you know EVERYTHING!)

The Prayer
Psalm 17:1
Hear, O LORD, my righteous plea; listen to my cry. Give ear to my prayer— it does not rise from deceitful lips.

God's Response
Psalm 50:16 NIV
But to the wicked, God says:
"What right have you to recite my laws or take my covenant on your lips?

A green Shoot will sprout from Jesse's stump, from his roots a budding Branch. The life-giving Spirit of God will hover over him, the Spirit that brings wisdom and understanding, The Spirit that gives direction and builds strength, the Spirit that instills knowledge and Fear-of-God. Fear-of-God will be all his joy and delight. He won't judge by appearances, won't decide on the basis of hearsay. He'll judge the needy by what is right, render decisions on earth's poor with justice. His words will bring everyone to awed attention. A mere breath from his lips will topple the wicked. Each morning he'll pull on sturdy work clothes and boots, and build righteousness and faithfulness in the land.

Look! Listen! God's arm is not amputated—he can still save. God's ears are not stopped up—he can still hear. There's nothing wrong with God; the wrong is in you. Your wrongheaded lives caused the split between you and God. Your sins got between you so that he doesn't hear. Your hands are drenched in blood, your fingers dripping with guilt, Your lips smeared with lies, your tongue swollen from muttering obscenities. No one speaks up for the right, no one deals fairly. They trust in illusion, they tell lies, they get pregnant with mischief and have sin-babies. They hatch snake eggs and weave spider webs. Eat an egg and die; break an egg and get a snake! The spider webs are no good for shirts or shawls. No one can wear these weavings! They weave wickedness, they hatch violence. They compete in the race to do evil and run to be the first to murder. They plan and plot evil, think and breathe evil, and leave a trail of wrecked lives behind them. They know nothing about peace and less than nothing about justice. They make tortuously twisted roads. No peace for the wretch who walks down those roads!

...And here I've looked God in the face! The King! God-of-the-Angel-Armies!"
Then one of the angel-seraphs flew to me. He held a live coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. He touched my mouth with the coal and said, "Look. This coal has touched your lips. Gone your guilt, your sins wiped out." And then I heard the voice of the Master: "Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?" I spoke up, "I'll go. Send me!"

Promise
Job 8:21 NIV
He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy.

Job 16:5 NIV
But my mouth would encourage you; comfort from my lips would bring you relief.

Psalm 8:2 NIV
From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.

Malachi 2:7NKJV
“ For the lips of a priest should keep knowledge, And people should seek the law from his mouth; For he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.

So let's go outside, where Jesus is, where the action is—not trying to be privileged insiders, but taking our share in the abuse of Jesus. This "insider world" is not our home. We have our eyes peeled for the City about to come. Let's take our place outside with Jesus, no longer pouring out the sacrificial blood of animals but pouring out sacrificial praises from our lips to God in Jesus' name.

Wisdom
Proverbs 10:13
Wisdom is found on the lips of him who has understanding, But a rod is for the back of him who is devoid of understanding.

Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk far from your lips.

that you may maintain discretion and your lips may preserve knowledge.

In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise.

Proverbs 16:23NKJV
The heart of the wise teaches his mouth, And adds learning to his lips.

When my lips are used in LOVE...
the way God intended it to be

...The kisses of your lips are honey, my love, every syllable you speak a delicacy to savor...

Yes, and yours are, too—my love's kisses flow from his lips to mine. I am my lover's. I'm all he wants. I'm all the world to him! Come, dear lover— let's tramp through the countryside. Let's sleep at some wayside inn, then rise early and listen to bird-song. Let's look for wildflowers in bloom, blackberry bushes blossoming white, Fruit trees festooned with cascading flowers. And there I'll give myself to you, my love to your love!

In the Mirror

Your breath clean and cool like fresh mint, your tongue and lips like the best wine.

Deuteronomy 23:23 NKJV
That which has gone from your lips you shall keep and perform, for you voluntarily vowed to the LORD your God what you have promised with your mouth.

Psalm 45:2NKJV
"You're the handsomest of WOMEN; every word from your lips is sheer grace, and God has blessed you, blessed you so much. Strap your sword to your side, warrior! Accept praise! Accept due honor! Ride majestically! Ride triumphantly! Ride on the side of truth! Ride for the righteous meek!

Psalm 12:4
that says, "We will triumph with our tongues; we own our lips —who is our master?"

Psalm 21:2
You have granted_________the desire of MY heart and have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah

Psalm 34:1
I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.

Psalm 45:2
You are the most excellent of men and MY lips have been anointed with grace, since God has blessed ME forever.

Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.

My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you— I,
whom you have redeemed.

Psalm 120:2
Save me, O LORD, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues.

Psalm 63:2
So here I am in the place of worship, eyes open, drinking in your strength and glory. In your generous love I am really living at last! My lips brim praises like fountains. I bless you every time I take a breath; My arms wave like banners of praise to you.

Malachi 2:6 NKJV
The law of truth was in his mouth, And injustice was not found on his lips. He walked with Me in peace and equity, And turned many away from iniquity.

Hebrews 13:15 NKJV
Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

Psalm 51:7
Soak ME in your laundry and I'll come out clean, scrub ME and I'll have a snow-white life. Tune ME in to foot-tapping songs, set these once-broken bones to dancing. Don't look too close for blemishes, give ME a clean bill of health. God, make a fresh start in ME, shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life. Don't throw ME out with the trash, or fail to breathe holiness in me. Bring me back from gray exile, put a fresh wind in my sails! Give ME a job teaching rebels your ways so the lost can find their way home. Commute my death sentence, God, my salvation God, and I'll sing anthems to your life-giving ways. Unbutton my lips, dear God; I'll let loose with your praise.

Prayer
Father God, your word is enough! We rest on the scripture that was magnified today and believe that the redemtion in it is truth! Thank you for the promise of Love found in Songs of Solomon, knowing that sometimes all it took was a passionate kiss for us to fall into old habits,
we pray against the dillusion Lord God, and pray for patience as we wait
for the man or women you have for us! Knowing that the Kisses we have had
before are NOTHING Compared to the kisses we will have when it is done that was you have designed. Comfort us God! For some of us we fell in again,
for others like me...it's been a COOOOOLLLL minute and my fear is falling into something off of the memory of a kiss. Those who have and they are with the one you have called we pray patience over them so they maybe able to truely know one another without the blinding emotions
Father I see more than every that you want our LIPS to give Praise. You MADE them to Praise you! So we stand today as the tribe of Judah, knowing what you have made our lips for and we say thank you!

Receive this Aba Father! We ask this in the name of Jesus
Amen
Shami
